Keeper 2.0

After making the Keeper for over a decade, I thought it’d be nice to give the design a little reboot and suss whether I could improve it. I’m always trying to improve everything, that’s what keeps me inspired as a surfer and a shaper, but what I found with the 2.0 is that rather than improve it, I just made it more approachable and user friendly, which was actually a pleasant surprise. I had my doubts that changing the Keeper would achieve anything positive, but somehow we got there.

The difference between the two designs is very subtle, when it comes down to it, the 2.0 is a fraction fuller in the rail with a wider nose concave and a touch more tail flip, making it a little easier to ride in sloppy and average surf, without going so far as to hinder its feel in perfect peelers. The 2.0 reignited my stoke for a design that I’ve been making for a long time, and it’s given me slightly different feels and increased responsiveness in some areas, but the main points of feedback have been that it’s more versatile in a wider array of conditions. And the feedback from Keeper lovers has been really positive too, some think it’s better than the original. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that, but it’s nice to have a new variant of my favourite design. For a little more info on its origin, check out the Keeper model.
