It's the news we've all been waiting for: our very own First Point, Noosa Heads, is starting to look like its old self. The Hasting Street Association will be shakin' in their boots... first comes the wave, then goes the beach, or something like that. Regardless, you better bags your cool cabana zone in the early in the AM this summer, it's gonna be toight.

FACCO SHOW: L.T.R. DUZ IT AGAIN
It took this keyboard warrior a few days to get over the hangover from the Floodlights show last weekend, but the fun was worth every ounce of pain. We're psyched the Thomas Factory has become a space for travelling bands to play shows, and that Little Temple Records is out there hustling to make them happen. Cheers for the happy hangover Henry and Jamie!

OUR MATE, CUDDLES THE RANGER
Were you aware that multiple Noosa Fest Noserider and Logger champion, Mr. Matt Cuddles Cuddihy is a National Parks Ranger? He's based out of our favourite park, the Great Sandy, and his normal day consists of park maintenance, handing out fines to bogans, and eating lunch out of a small red eski. Onya Cuddles, that's respectable work right there. And in case you, the reader, are headed up the beach, do the right thing: no illegal camping, no shittn' in the dunes... and if you see bogans doin dougheys, report them to Ranger Cuddles! HAHA.

THEY DON'T MAKE 'EM LIKE THEY USED TO
Now here's one from the left of field... 30 years ago, three time World Longboard Champion Rusty Keaulana won his second title by preventing odds-on favourite, Joel Tudor, from catching waves. Haha! In a controversial four man final, Keaulana and two fellow Hawaiians teamed up for the classic snatch and grab, flexing their way past the pundits, and owning it in a way that only a Hawaiian can. Rusty's known for being one of the most exciting longboarders of the 90's - a true switch stance hero with a balls-to-the-wall, progressive approach. Needless to say, they don't make 'em like they used to.

It's time for a catch up with the Thomas Surfboards spirit animal, Olivia Williams, who spent most of her grom years photographing everything that ever happened here at Thomas. Liv's an enigmatic gal who lights up every room she walks into - a hell of a photographer too - and over the last few years she's been expanding her knowledge of Australian wildlife. Lately Liv's been: up in FNQ seein' the sights, chasing snakes, working with baby crocs, ridin' ponies (yeehah) and every now and then, managing a quick shorey schralp. If you see dis Queen around the traps, give her a hug from the T.S. team, and tell her to wrangle some more Noosa time.

QUESTION: ANYONE SEEN THE L.S.C. BBQ?
The Long Surfboard Club is far from legit: zero money in the kitty, no winners, we're missing our BBQ, it's rare that a fibreglass surfboard is ridden, and the surf is always shit, but we've nailed the one thing that matters - we have heaps of fun. This sometimes once, sometimes twice-a-year social event is booked in for its 10th round, on December 8, 2024. Come one, come all, and can someone please bring a BBQ!
